Tour of Scenic Studio

Last week, members of Seattle Opera's office staff got to take a brief tour of the Seattle Opera Scenic Studios down in Renton, WA. The artists at the shop were hard at work on Lucia di Lammermoor. A few pictures from the tour:

Staff from the main office (in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood) enter the Renton Scenic Studios.

Michael Moore, Scenic Studios Manager, and Bruce Warshaw, Master Scenic Carpenter, explain the work that's underway in the Studio. The tree above Michael's head will be part of Act 1, Scene 2.

Staff members look at the complicated timeline for the construction of the Lucia set.

Maureen Wilhelm, Scenic Artist, works on the painting of Lucia's deceased mother, which will eventually hang in the main hall of Lammermoor Castle.
